Eliminating brand Maybach: common calculation or an admission of defeat?

Most recently, the press reported that the German company Daimler AG in 2013 plans to leave the segment of luxury limousines, but rather will be phased out production of representational vehicles under the brand Maybach.

Maybach can not stay on the market

In fact, Dieter Zetsche, head of Daimler conceded defeat in this segment in the struggle with their own countrymen - BMW and Volkswagen. Brands Rolls-Royce and Bentley are the property of these particular companies. While on the other hand, the decision of Germans, perhaps, is not a consequence of the failure of marketing or business failures. At Daimler is what to produce and what to trade. In addition to passenger cars, it's - trucks, buses, bulldozers, forklifts and much more. And what about the Maybach? Slightly more than two hundred limousines sold this year. Naturally, with such a realization of a segment of the market does not hold.
